With a Fedora
Here they are – the 1956 Pensacola Police Detective Bureau. Imagine…Suits (no sportcoats), ties (four-in-hand and bowties) – some with tie tacs or tie bars, white starched shirts, and fedoras.
It appears that Buddy Peake, Captain Madsen, and Raymond Harper are armed. I assume the others are also.
Now imagine investigating a felony with no DNA technology, no surveillance cameras, no portable recorders, no cell phones and no portable radios.
Also, no Miranda warnings, no disrespect from suspects, and few suppression hearings.
Wow. Compare the two. Which era would you rather work in?

I would prefer the old times
We didn’t have that equipment when I came on in 1971 either
