By Mike Simmons
Old Police Stories, LLC presents, “A Tradition of Excellence,” Building the Nations Finest Law Officers. This book reaches back and documents the early years of police training, leading up to the training of police and corrections officers in West Florida, including the exceptional training received by recruits today. Hundreds of photographs showing thousands of officers in training classes from the first police training photo in West Florida in 1939 to those at the Pensacola Police Department, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Pensacola Junior College and the George Stone Criminal Justice Training Center. It also illustrates many of the instructors. One chapter is dedicated to the Robichaud dynasty that has existed in West Florida since the late 1970s. Forward by Sheriff Chip Simmons.
